Jim is a software engineer, gamer, and occasional operatic bass. He’s thrilled to be back visiting Pittsburgh after moving to Austin last year where he recently performed in Ruddigore and Patience with the Gilbert and Sullivan Society of Austin. He’s also thrilled to be a member of Super Smash Opera with whom he performs as Master Hand and Bowser. Prior to that he has performed several comedic and singing roles on-stage, including General Zod (SupermAnnie), Captain Corcoran (Utopia Limited), Nobby (The Parallax Zone), Carpenter’s Mate (H.M.S. Pinafore), Pish Tush (The Mikado) and several ensemble roles with the Pittsburgh Savoyards and Undercroft Opera. He co-created (with wife Bonnie Bogovich) and starred in fan-videos for Jonathan Coulton’s songs I Feel Fantastic and Travels of Code Monkey. He was also a prolific extra in Evenings in Quarantine: The Zombie Opera, giving rise to the “spot Jim in the background video” drinking game.
