Members of Super Smash Opera have lent their perspective on classic music and classic games, but now they tackle classic literature in a new project, The Dracula RadioPlay Experience. Smashmembers Bonnie Bogovich, Liz Rishel, and Sean Lenhart have teamed up with Gwen Schmidt and Judy Kirby to produce a radio play podcast version of Bram Stoker’s beloved masterpiece, Dracula. This radio play features a full cast of characters, sound effects, and thematic music to set the tone of the drama. To complete the experience, each episode of this novel is released on the date that each character chronicles the happenings, so the listener may feel the passage of time as the story unfolds.
Super Smash Opera‘s Liz Rishel (Zelda, Sheik) plays “Lucy Westenra” in addition to her role as Story Continuity Supervisor, maintaining a technical knowledge of the story. Sean Lenhart (Luigi, Ganondorf) plays “Dr. John Seward” and also formats the novel as a script and assists with audio scrubbing. Bonnie Bogovich (Link, Jigglypuff) performs as “Mina Murray Harker” while breathing life into the each episode as the Audio Engineer/Designer/Composer. Also, listen for Jesse Buddington (Star Fox, Mario) playing “Jonathan Harker” and Jim Newsome (Master Hand) as Harker’s kindly employer, “Mr. Peter Hawkins”. Also MaryLou Lenhart and Matt Kucic, SmashOpera‘s faithful stage crew, playing cameo roles as “Vampire Bride” and “Coach Driver” respectively.
